Since launching my website back in April, the time has just flown. I can’t believe it’s nearly July already.
I have been creating wedding and celebration cake designs and fulfilling orders as well as replying to emails and updating dummy cakes for wedding fairs.
In addition, it was our wedding anniversary at the start of June and we spent a lovely weekend visiting Oxford and Blenheim Palace. Definitely a beautiful place to visit with amazing gardens. Lots of inspiration for sugar flowers and couldn’t resist the afternoon tea !
New Cake Flavours
I have reviewed all my cake recipes to ensure that I am providing the best quality product I can for your special event.
This involves using premium ingredients and so I am always on the lookout for different ingredients that might improve the taste and texture of the sponge.
I have updated the Lemon & Blueberry and Champagne & Strawberry flavours and, in addition to the cake flavours already on the menu, I have added new flavours. These are Lime and Passionfruit and Coconut and Raspberry.
Feedback so far has been very positive. If you would like to try some cake, please email me to order a sample box. These are £25 and this cost will be deducted from any cake should you decide to order from me.
Wedding Favours
My challenge for the next couple months is to enhance my wedding favour and dessert table offering.
Wedding favours have traditionally been given to guests as a ‘Thank you’ for attending the wedding. This tradition dates back to the 16th century where love knots were created from lace and ribbon to celebrate the couples bond. European aristocracy would give bonbonnieres. These were little boxes made of precious metal or stones which held a delicacy made from sugar.
It was from these boxed confections that today’s wedding favours are derived.
Whilst almonds were traditionally given, modern brides gift iced biscuits, caksicles, cake pops, cupcakes or macaroons as a wedding favour. Very often these can double as place settings for guests.
Please check out my gallery for recent wedding favours and look out for new offerings
The next few months are busy creating cakes and exhibiting at wedding fairs. I will be at Orchardleigh House on Sunday 2nd July and Bristol Golf Club on Sunday 23rd July.
